Ziyarat Ashura — Salutation to Imam Husain (AS)

As-salāmu ʿalayka yā abā ʿAbdillāh As-salāmu ʿalayka yābnar-rasūlillāh As-salāmu ʿalayka yabna amīril-muʾminīna wabna sayyidil-awṣiyāʾ As-salāmu ʿalayka yabna Fāṭimata sayyidati nisāʾil-ʿālamīn As-salāmu ʿalayka yā thārallāhi wabna thārihī wal-witar al-mawtūr As-salāmu ʿalayka wa ʿalā l-arwāḥil-latī ḥallat bi-finā'ik ʿAlaykum minnī jamīʿan salāmullāhi abadan mā baqītu wa baqiya l-laylu wan-nahār Yā abā ʿAbdillāh, laqad ʿaẓumati r-razziyyatu wa jallati l-muṣībatu bika ʿalaynā Wa ʿalā jamīʿi ahli l-Islām Wa jallat wa ʿaẓumat muṣībatuka fis-samāwāti ʿalā jamīʿi ahlis-samāwāt Fa-laʿanallāhu ummatan assasat asāsaẓ-ẓulmi wal-jawri ʿalaykum ahla l-bayt Wa laʿanallāhu ummatan dafaʿatkum ʿan maqāmikum wa azālatukum ʿan marātibikumul-latī rattabaakumulllāhu fīhā Anā silmun liman sālamakum Wa ḥarbun liman ḥārabakum Wa waliyyun liman wālākum Wa ʿaduwwun liman ʿādākum Ilā yawmil-qiyāmah Yā laytanī kuntu maʿakum fa-afūza fawzan ʿaẓīmā Fa-asʾalullāhal-ladhī akrama maqāmakum wa akramanī bikum An yarzuqanī ṭalaba thārikum maʿa imāmin manṣūrin min ahli bayti Muḥammadin ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa ālih Allāhumma ijʿalnī ʿindaka wajīhan bil-Ḥusayni fid-dunyā wal-ākhirah Yā abā ʿAbdillāh innī ataqarrabu ilallāhi wa ilā rasūlihī wa ilā amīril-muʾminīna wa ilā Fāṭimata wa ilāl-Ḥasani wa ilayk Bi-muwālātika wa bil-barāʾati mimman assasa asāsa dhālika wa banā ʿalayhi bunyānah Allāhumma ashfi ṣadrī bin-naṣri lil-Ḥusayni wajʿalnī wajīhan lahu fid-dārayn Wa ṣallillāhumma ʿalā Muḥammadin wa āli Muḥammadin wa sallim taslīman kathīrā

Peace be upon you, O Father of Abdullah. Peace be upon you, O son of the Messenger of Allah. Peace be upon you, O son of the Commander of the Faithful and son of the master of the Successors. Peace be upon you, O son of Fatimah, mistress of the women of all the worlds. Peace be upon you, O blood-avenger of Allah and son of His avenger, O the one whose blood demands requital. Peace be upon you and upon the souls that gathered in your sanctuary. Upon you all from me, always: the peace of Allah — for as long as I remain, and as long as night and day continue. O Father of Abdullah — great is the calamity, immense the tragedy you have left us. For all of Islam — and in the heavens, the angels grieve. Allah curse the people who laid the foundations of oppression and injustice upon you, O Ahl al-Bayt. Allah curse the people who pushed you from your station and removed you from the ranks that Allah had placed you in. I am at peace with whoever is at peace with you, at war with whoever wages war against you, a friend to whoever befriends you, an enemy to whoever is your enemy — until the Day of Judgment. Would that I had been with you — so I might have won a tremendous victory. I ask Allah — who honored your station and who honored me through you — to grant me the pursuit of your vindication alongside a victorious Imam from the family of Muhammad (SAW). O Allah, make me distinguished before You through Husain — in this world and the next. O Father of Abdullah, I draw near to Allah, to His Messenger, to the Commander of the Faithful, to Fatimah, to Hasan, and to you — through my walayah toward you and through my disavowal of those who laid the foundation of this wrong and built upon it. O Allah, heal my heart through support for Husain, and make me distinguished on his account in both abodes. And bless, O Allah, Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and grant abundant peace.
